Oats cheela/Oats Pancake

 

Oats cheela/Oats pancake 

Ingredients :

  • Oats : 1 cup
  • Sattu : 2 tbsp ( optional )
  • Water : 1 cup
  • Egg : 1
  • Carrots : 1/2 cup grated
  • Capsicum: 1/4 th cup finely chopped 
  • Onion: 1/4 th cup finely chopped 
  • Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp finely chopped 
  • Green chilies: 2 finely chopped 
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil :2 tbsp
Procedure:

1) First take a kadai and dry roast the oats and then keep it in a mixing bowl.

2) Add a cup of water to oats and let it soak for 10 minutes.

3) Meanwhile chop all the vegetables.

4) Now with the help of hand smash that soaked oats.Now add all the ingredients to it. And mix them well.If required add more water to make the desired consistency. It will be medium consistency (not too thick neither too liquid).

5) Now take a frying pan .Add few drops of oil and spread it with a brush. Pour 2 tbsp of batter and spread it like a pancake or cheela and cook in low heat.Cover it with a lid and wait for 2-3minutes. Now now remove the lid and turn the pancake and cover and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.

6) In this way turn by turn make the cheelas. Outer layer will be crispy and inside it will be soft.

Serve the hot Oats cheela with ketchup.

Bread Upma

Preparation time :5 minutes
Cooking Time : 10 minutes
Serves : 2

Ingredients :

  • Bread : 4 slices cut into very small cubes
  • Onion : 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • Green Chilies : 2 chopped
  • Curry leaves: 3-4
  • Red bell pepper : 2-3 tbsp finely chopped
  • Tomato : 2-3 tbsp Chopped
  • Black mustard : 1/8 tsp
  • Cumin seeds : 1/8 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup : 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil : 1tbsp


Procedure :

1) First cut bread slices into small cubes and put it in a 
    bowl .Sprinkle 1 -2 tbsp of water over it.
2) In a pan add oil and heat it.
3) Then temper it with cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
     Wait for few seconds.
4) Add chopped onion ,green chilies and curry leaves.
    Saute for a minute in medium-high heat.
5) Now add other vegetables. You can add any 
    vegetables of your choice.Add salt.
6) Stir it for 4-5 minutes in medium heat till all 
    vegetables becomes soft.
7) Add ketchup and mix it with vegetables.
8) Add cube bread pieces and mix them well with
    vegetables. Cook for 2 minutes.Turn off the heat.

    Serve hot with tea.

Bread Pizza

Preparation Time : 5 minutes
Cooking Time : 15-20 minutes

Ingredients :

  • Bread : 4 slices
  • Butter : 1 tbsp (optional)
  • Chicken : left over 4 medium pieces
  • Onion : 1 small chopped
  • Green chilies : 1 (optional)
  • Capsicum : 2 tbsp chopped
  • Red capsicum : 2 tbsp chopped (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Tomato ketcup : 1 tbsp
  • Cheese slices : 4
  • Cheese : 1 cup grated
  • Vegetable oil: 1 tbsp


Procedure :

1) If you have left over chicken pieces then chopped them into very small pieces.You
     can also use fresh chicken.
2) In a kadai / pan add 1 tbsp oil ,heat it.Then add all vegetables and chopped meat
     and mix them well.
3) Sprinkle salt ,mix well.
4) Add tomato ketchup and mix them well.Cook them until all vegetable becomes soft.
    Turn off the heat .
5) Now put sliced bread on a baking tray . Spread each of the bread with butter.
6) Put one slice of cheese on each bread. You can also avoid this step.
7) Now top  the cooked vegetables and meat on the bread slices.
8) Now over the vegetables and meat put grated cheese as per your taste.
9) Preheat the oven and put the tray in the oven and bake it at 250 degree farenhit for
    8-10 minutes.

    Serve with chili flakes or hot ketchup. Enjoy .

Koraishutir Kochuri / Green Peas Kachori

Preparation Time : 20-25 minutes
Cooking Time : 20-25 minutes

Ingredients :

  • Koraishuti / green peas : 1 cup frozen or fresh
  • Green chilies : 1-2 
  • Ginger : 1/4 tsp
  • Ajwain : 1/4 tsp
  • Hing /Asafoetida : pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • All purpose flour : 2 cup
  • Vegetable oil : 2-3 tbsp
  • Sugar : 1 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying 


Procedure :

1) If you are using frozen green peas,then defrost them.
    Then make a fine paste of green peas, ginger and 
     green chilies with very little water.
2) Now in a frying pan heat 1 tbsp of oil then add 
    ajwain and hing ,wait for few seconds.Add the 
    smooth paste of green peas and little sugar if peas
    are not sweet,fry it till water from paste evaporates 
    and the mixture becomes dry.Now the stuffing is 
    ready and keep it aside and let it cool down.
3) In a large bowl take flour ,salt ,sugar and 2 -3 tbsp 
    oil.Mix them well.Now firstly add 1/2 cup of water
    and make a dough .If reqiued add little more water   
    gradually till dough is soft.Now cover the dough 
    with a damp cloth and keep it for 10-15 minutes.
4) Now take a small portion of dough in hand and 
    make a round ball.Then make a small disc by 
    pressing it with your palm and put a small ball (
    1 tsp) of stuff in the center of disc.Now bring all 
    sides together and cover the opening. Keep them 
    aside for 10 minutes.Cover it with a wet kitchen 
    towel.
5) Now roll out by applying oil on both sides. Roll 
     it gently. Put the joint side in bottom.
6) Take oil for deep frying in kadai or frying pan
     and heat it. Deep fry the  kochuri.

    Serve hot kochuries with potato curry or chana dal.

Masala Sandwich

Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Cooking Time : 10-12 minutes
Serves:2

Ingredients :

  • Bread : 4 slices
  • Potato : 1 large, boiled and smashed
  • Onion : 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • Garlic : 1 clove finely chopped
  • Cumin seeds : 1/2 tsp
  • Green chili: 1 tsp finely chopped
  • Ginger paste : 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder : 1/2 tsp
  • Vegetable oil : 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chat masala : pinch
  • Butter : 1tbsp


Procedure :

1) Boil potato and smashed it . Keep aside.
2) In a frying pan heat oil and cumin seeds.Let them splutter.
3) Add onions and chopped garic. Fry the onions till transparent.
4) Add chopped green chili. Add ginger paste,cumin powder and salt.
    Fry it for 2-3 minutes.
5) Add smashed potato.Mix the stuffing very well.cook for 5 minutes.
    Turn off the heat. Let the mixture cool before you start using it for
    the sandwich.Sprinkle chat masala over masala and mix them well.
6) Cut the edges of the bread. Cut the bread in triangular shape.
7) Apply butter evenly on the bread on both sides.
8) Put and spread potato mixture on one bread and cover it with another.
9) In a  sandwich maker, toaster or grill, toast or grill the sandwich till
    browned from both sides.
10) It will become crisp from outside and soft from inside.

    Serve hot.

Chirer Pulao / Simple Poha

Ingredients :


  • Raw Poha or Chire : thick 2 cups
  • Curry leaves : 5-6
  • Cumin seeds : 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds : 1/4 tsp
  • Green chili : 1 chopped
  • Onion : 1/3 cup chopped
  • Peanut : 1/2 cup roasted
  • Potato : 1/2 cup chopped
  • Raisin : 10-12 pieces
  • Salt : as per taste
  • Sugar : as per taste
  • Turmeric powder : 1/3 teaspoon
  • Vegetable Oil : 2 tablespoon


Procedure:

1) Soaked poha in cold water for 5 minutes and after 5 minutes drain
    the poha .
2) Heat oil in a pan and add curry leaves,cumin seeds,mustard seeds.
    Fry for few seconds.
3) Now add peanuts,raisins and green chili.Mix well.
4) Add potato, onion,  salt and turmeric powder. Fry till potatoes and
    onion become tender.
5) Add sugar and mix well.
6) Now add the poha into the pan ,mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes .
   Serve hot with some ketchup.

French Toast







Preparation time : 5-7 minutes
Cooking time : 5 -10 minutes
Serves : 2-3

Ingredients :

  • Bread : 4 pieces cut into triangle
  • Egg : 2 
  • Milk : 3-4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Onion : 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies : 1-2 chopped
  • Vegetable oil/ canola oil : 4-5 tbsp



Procedure:
1) In a bowl mix egg,milk,salt,onion,green chilies.

2) Dip each slice of bread into egg mixture allowing bread to soak up
    some of the mixture.

3) Heat oil over a skillet on medium high heat.

4) Add as many slices of bread onto the skillet as will fit at a time.

5) Fry until brown on both sides, flipping the bread when necessary.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.

Quick Sooji Upma / Semolina Upma

Preparation Time : 5-8 minutes
Cooking Time : 10-12 minutes
Serves : 2

Ingredients:

  • sooji / semolina: 1/2 cup
  • chopped onion: 1-2 tbsp
  • green chillies: 1-2 cut lengthwise
  • curry leaves:5-6
  • black mustard seeds:1/2 tsp
  • roasted peanuts:1-2 tbsp
  • chopped cilantro : 1 tbsp
  • oil 1tbsp
  • water: 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste 
  • sugar: 1/2 tsp



Procedure:


1) First dry roast sooji for 2-3 mins and keep aside.Don't make it
    brown.
2) Then in a pan heat oil and add curry leaves ,mustard seeds and
     green chilies.
3) When all this spices starts spluttering put onions. Fry them in
     medium heat for 2-3 mins.
4) Then add roasted peanuts and sooji.
5) Add salt,sugar and cilantro, mix it well. fry them for another
    3-4 mins.
6) Then most important step add water slowly and mix them.
7) Sooji will absorb water quickly and swell ,so begin to stir.
8) If you find upma dry then add little more water .
9) Keep stirring so that the upma does not stick to the pan.
Your upma is ready. Serve them hot with a cup of hot tea .
