HI, I am Soumita . Born and brought up in West Bengal and was blessed to be part of festival of food since my childhood. It has been a long journey indeed and I met some amazing people with amazing culinary skills. I want to mention my mother, whose elegant but simple cooking style was something I always wanted to learn, and I am still trying. I learnt a lot about Bengali cuisine from her and homely food is the one that we love most on day to day basis.
After marriage, we relocated to US and the world of cooking began to unfold its beauties, I started loving it even more. I was always a foodie and so is my husband. I was inspired by cooking style of my mother in law, she taught me some secrets of cooking which make the dishes very special. I had lengthy cooking chat with my sister in laws and cousins and we shared lots of cooking ideas among ourselves. Thanks to all of them.
During my Oregon days, I am meeting many people with versatile culinary skills and getting a chance to know about wide array of cuisines across the globe. My father ,father in law, brother and brother-in-law encouraged me a lot to start writing a blog. End of the day - I needed somebody to taste my dishes, be it best or worst and who could be better than my husband who never complains to do so.
I am from science background, did my MCA from Sikkim Manipal University and love to read books, Tagore, Sharat Chandra Chatterjee, Suchitra Bhattacharya to name a few. I realized cooking is a nice blend of science and arts. Best dishes are cooked with greatest of care and love. My blog ‘Bhalobese Ranna’ is all about cooking food with love for my loved ones. I am glad to share my cooking dishes and recipes with all of you and Thanks to each one of you to be a part of my journey.
Bon appetite!!
